• With the increased use of non-corrosive materials, and a barrel design that has been improved, this lens will give years of use while saving weight.
• Provides a constant wide f/2.8 aperture for excellent low light photography at any focal length in the zoom range. The wide aperture allows more light through to the camera for taking pictures in difficult lighting situations, or for use of faster shutter speeds to either reduce vibrations or capture fast action. Also, constant aperture lenses make manual strobe calculations easier.
• In additional to creating a finished lens that is more comfortable to use, it can be easily switched from auto focus to manual focus modes. While in manual focus, the lens has a damped action for smooth precise focus movement. Tokina has maintained the integrity of a lens design that is internal focusing, meaning the filter thread does not rotate during focusing. This mechanical design places priority on ease of use.
