Pentax states it has listened to suggestions and requests offered by current 645N users, and has added a number of features to the new camera. These include a mirror lock-up facility for reduced risk of camera shake caused by the mirror vibration or long exposures; a choice of 1/3 or 1/2 stop increments in exposure compensation and bracketing sequences; a much wider range of data imprinting on the film rebate; custom functions; and compatibility with newer electronic accessories including remote releases. Pentax is poised to launch its next generation of medium format SLR, the 645NII, a camera designed to appeal to ?uncompromising professionals? and ?advanced amateurs?. Pentax says the 645NII is an improvement on its 645N predecessor and includes new features such as a mirror lock-up function to help avoid unwanted camera shake when the shutter is released and improve exposure accuracy. Also listed among the camera?s enhancements is the ability to choose the value of EV increments for exposure compensation and autobracketing (in half or third stop steps up to plus or minus 3EV). There is also a wider choice of on-the-film printing information. In addition to data such as shutter speed, aperture priority and focal length, the user can use the film to log the total number of film rolls, focusing mode, ISO film speed, use of AE lock and/or autobracketing functions and use flash synchronisation.
